Ward Stare lends his baton to Mercer University performance

StareGlareWard Stare took a break from his post at the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Friday to lead a group of Mercer University students in Macon, GA. The concert will include Mendelssohn’s String Symphony No. 11 in F Major and Mozart’s Divertimento in D Major.

The students say they are thrilled to perform such ambitious works, and The Cluster call Stare “a rising star in the conducting firmament.”

After Friday’s performance, Stare is set to return to Rochester, NY to conduct at the American Music Festival on October 23, 27, 29, as well as November 3 and 5.
