  • Elizabeth C. Buccheri, Chair

    Elizabeth Buccheri’s distinguished career includes serving as Head of Music at the Aspen Opera Center, and accompanist/coach for conductors Sir Georg Solti, Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez, Zubin Mehta, Sir Andrew Davis, and Christoph Eschenbach. From 1987 to 2013 Buccheri served as assistant conductor of Lyric Opera of Chicago. She served 28 seasons as accompanist for the Chicago Symphony Chorus under the direction of Margaret Hillis.

    As an educator, Buccheri supervised the Bienen School of Music’s collaborative piano program from 2000 to 2013. She has given master classes at The Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music, Aspen Music Festival and School, Lawrence Conservatory, and the music academies of Lithuania and Latvia.

  • Duain Wolfe

    Three-time Grammy winner for Best Choral Performance, Best Classical Recording, and Best Opera Performance, Duain Wolfe recently retired as Director of the Chicago Symphony Chorus after 28 years. This year marks Wolfe’s 40th season as Founder and Director of the Colorado Symphony Chorus. He has collaborated with Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez, Bernard Haitink, Riccardo Muti, and Sir George Solti on numerous recordings including Wagner’s Die Meistersinger, which won the 1998 Grammy® for Best Opera Recording.

    Wolfe’s extensive musical accomplishments have resulted in numerous awards, including the Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts from the University of Denver, the Bonfils Stanton Award in the Arts and Humanities, the Mayor’s Award for Excellence in an Artistic Discipline, and the Michael Korn Award for the Development of the Professional Choral Art.

    Wolfe is Founder of the Colorado Children’s Chorale, from which he retired in 1999 after 25 years. For 20 years, Wolfe also worked with the Central City Opera Festival as chorus director and conductor, founding and directing the company’s young artist residence program, as well as its education and outreach programs. Wolfe’s other accomplishments include directing and preparing choruses for Chicago’s Ravinia Festival, the Bravo! Vail Festival, the Berkshire Choral Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Grand Teton Music Festival. He has worked with Pinchas Zuckerman and Alexander Shelly as Chorus Director for the Canadian National Arts Centre Orchestra for the past 20 years.

  • Pamela Bullock

    Pamela Bullock received her master's degree in voice training and accompaniment from the University of Illinois, where she studied with noted accompanist John Wustman. After settling in New York, she began fruitful collaborations with opera companies and orchestras across the United States. In 1986 she was appointed assistant conductor at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, with which she remained associated for over 25 years.

    In 1990 Bullock became a répétiteur at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, where she worked with Wolfgang Sawallisch, among others. Two years later she was appointed head of the music staff of the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels under music director Antonio Pappano.

  • David Neely

    As Music Director and Principal Conductor of Des Moines Metro Opera, a position he has held since 2012, Neely has elevated the company’s musical profile and developed one of the nation’s finest opera orchestras. He has led productions with Atlanta Opera, Sarasota Opera, Intermountain Opera, and numerous European opera houses including Bonn and Dortmund. His performances have been praised in Opera News, Opera Today, Opernwelt, the Chicago Tribune, and the Wall Street Journal.​

    Neely has led concerts with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Portland Symphony Orchestra, Dortmund Philharmonic, Bochumer Philharmoniker, Eutin Festival Orchestra, Bregenz Symphony Orchestra, and is a regular conductor with the D.C. area’s Apollo Orchestra. He has led ballets with Dortmund Opera and the Indiana University Ballet Theater.

    Neely is also Director of Orchestras at the University of Maryland School of Music. He is a regular guest conductor and guest conducting teacher at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he previously served on faculty.
