Case Scaglione makes Italian debut with the Orchestra Sinfonia di Milano

Revered for being “an unstoppable guide who imposes flawless discipline” (Diapason), conductor Case Scaglione makes his Italian debut with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano in two concerts on the 8 and 10 November 2024 at Auditorium Fondazione Cariplo. The programme features Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 11 in G minor, Op. 103.

Case opened the the 2024/25 season with Orchestre National d’Île de France, where he is currently in his sixth season as Music Director, recording Berio’s Folk Songs with renowned Czech folk singer Iva Bittová, which will be released and toured in 2026/27. Additional season highlights with the orchestra include a re-premiere of Rhita Strohl’s Symphonie Forêt, followed by a tour featuring Steven Isserlis performing Dvořák, and, for the first time in the orchestra’s history, a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 7. To close the season, Case will reunite with the Chœur de Radio France to present Schubert’s Mass in A-flat major.

Most recently, Case completed a six-year tenure at Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn. During his time with the orchestra, Case appeared regularly at Stuttgart’s Liederhalle, Kloster Schöntal, Ludwigsburg, Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp, Munich’s Prinzregententheater, and Forum am Schlosspark in Ludwigsburg. Composers of classical and early Romantic periods, as well as 20th Century and contemporary ones, featured prominently throughout Case’s tenure with the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn.

Recent European guest conducting highlights include debut appearances in Stockholm with the Swedish Radio Symphony; Hamburg with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra; Valladolid with Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra; and at Madrid’s Teatro Monumental with RTVE Symphony Orchestra. His Polish debut was with the Szczecin Philharmonic; his Prague debut with the Prague Symphony Orchestra; and his Danish debut with the Aalborg Symphony. Debut highlights of the 24/25 season are collaborations with the Komische Oper Berlin and Gävle Symphony Orchestra. Recently, Case also made a highly acclaimed debut at the Opéra National de Paris in a production of Elektra by Richard Strauss.
